It’s STILL Time To Retire It: Roman Numerals!

On the eve of 2014’s Super Bowl XLVIII, let’s return to my post of February 07, 2012 – HERE!

It’s just as true, two years later!

Hey, It's MET LIFE STADIUM!  We've got a SUPER BOWL!

Joe,

And it appears the NY/NJ " 'Bowl" is going to work out fairly well, weather-wise! Eh, what do those "old farmers" know, anyway!

"BOOM! That's excitement!"

Chris:

Esther and I were out dining in NYC tonight (just returned at 10:15) and it was a very pleasant night, temperature-wise. I expect the Big-Game-Day to be more of the same! I just LOVE that we have the Super Bowl here, and hope we get it again!

I dunno, I think the roman numerals at least CAN be kinda badass. The concern I have is that for the next few years we're going to have numbers that are kind of uncool-looking combinations of L's and I'ls--IL, L, LI, LII, LIII. It's cool-looking when there's a bunch of X's, but there's just no getting around it: "L" is NOT an intrinsically cool letter.

You know, in some sort of odd way I can’t fully explain, I actually agree with this!

The X’s DO give it a different look and feel, as opposed to a string of L’s and I’s! …But a string of them may be easier to read at a glance!
