A Final Peek at Pelicans!

We end “Pelican Week”, here at TIAH Blog, not with UNCLE SCROOGE… but with THE FLINTSTONES!

From 1968, the year Romano Scarpa unleashed his “Pilfering Pelicans” (…under the control of “The Pelican Thief” -- who has still not fully recalled his actual name), we have Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, rather than Huey, Dewey, and Louie, taking the ride on the cover of THE FLINTSTONES # 48 (October, 1968).

And, four years earlier, we see a more conventional Flintstones-use of a pelican on the cover of THE FLINTSTONES # 21 (September, 1964).

And, as a beaked-bonus, here’s that wonderfully bizarre moment where Homer Simpson tries using a pelican, not unlike his “forefather Fred”, to disastrous results – from the absolutely hilarious SIMPSONS episode “Missionary Impossible” original airdate: February 20, 2000!

Oh, and remember, “Pelican Week” may be over, but our comments section remains open 24/7 for discussions of “The Pelican Thief”!

Be back tomorrow for “Pirates Week”!
