Congratulations to the 2012 American League East Champion New York Yankees!

At TIAH Blog, we offer our most enthusiastic congratulations to the 2012 American League East Champion New York Yankees!

They once had a 10 game lead.  Lost it, but never sank below a tie for first with the amazingly persistent Baltimore Orioles!

HERE'S what the picture looked like at the mid-point of the season!

But, in the end, they finished with the best record in the American League -- and wind up atop the American League Eastern Division... on the last day of the season!

Aided, I might add, by playing to a record of 14-4, from September 15 thru today, October 3rd!

That was the best record in Major League Baseball over that span!

What a thrill ride it's been!

Now, on to the playoffs!

Joe,

The Yankees probably would have won more easily if not for the injuries, but (as you can imagine) everyone here in the Baltimore area is tickled about the Orioles breaking through. And the two teams could play each other if the O's win the playoff with Texas.

If the World Series does not include the Yankees, I’d like to see it played between the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals!

Those are two teams – and two CITIES – that deserve it!

…But, GO YANKEES anyway!

Joe.

Joe,

It would be a big deal around here if the O's and Nats played, but I don't think there would be much bad blood.

…Bad blood? Hardly! It should be a big celebration for B’more and DC!

Though, personally, I’d still rather celebrate the Yankees!
