With the Yankees winning the 2012 American League East, you’d
think they would have had the best pitcher in New York baseball… but they don’t!
That honor goes to R.A. Dickey of the New York Mets, who finished with a record of 20-6!
Given that the Mets overall were 74-88, that would give
Dickey (all by his lonesome) 28 percent (!) of the team’s total wins!
And consider what a feat it is to BE 20-6 on a team with a
losing record… They’re probably not scoring a ton of runs for you, so you’ve
gotta be EXTRA good!
So thank you, R.A. Dickey, for being such a standout in the competitive
arena of New York baseball!
