Tickets sold out before I had a chance to get one this year. BAWL! Shades of San Diego Comic Con! Anyway I'll miss you guys and buy early next time. Have fun!

I’m very sorry to hear that, Joe C., as we had such a great time getting together for NYCC 2012.

I guess that means that NYCC has become the Big Event that our great city of New York has deserved all along! It’s already reached a point where I no longer miss going to San Diego.

Unfortunately, like San Diego, it now appears the planning has to start early! I will miss seeing you this year.

Aww, I wish I was going!

Honestly, that I can remember, I've never really been to a con for *anything*. I really should soon.

Now that you’ve become a valued regular around here, Abe, I wish you were going too!

You REALLY SHOULD go to a con for something – preferably a Comic Con, as they’ve sorta become “All-Encompassing Cons” for darned near everything these days.

But, despite a more recent “diffused focus”, Comic Cons are still something special…

I got in at the tail end of the legendary “Phil Seuling Cons” of New York in the early eighties. Did San Diego every year, save three, over the period of 1988-2003. After that, particularly during the years of my association with Gemstone, went regularly to Baltimore Comic Con…

…And have managed to do New York Comic Con every year since its inception. I’ve seen it grow, from initial disarray, into the GREAT SHOW New York OUGHT TO HAVE, and I’m thrilled to go once again this year!

But, yeah… have the experience someday! You’ll love it!

Hi, Joe: I'm afraid obtaining a ticket has eluded me too... but I, too, view the pre-sale sellouts as a GOOD thing, reflecting a continued and growing interest of the comics and related materials we all adore so! Perhaps 2014...

'Til then, wishing you a successful visit/appearance at NYCC: may you excavate some NEW old gems for your collection to inspire future TIAH posts (and a belated Happy 5th Anniversary around here, by the way) - Dan
