THEY'RE BAAAACK! And are we glad of it!

If you think our LAST POST had an "UNEXPECTED" surprise... just take a look at THIS!

Yes, this is just what it looks like - or NOT what it looks like, ya never know - Uncle Scrooge meets Duckburg's analog to H.P. LOVECRAFT!!!

And, since *I* "LOVE" my "CRAFT" so very much, you can bet I did a lot of research on matters Lovecraftian before writing my first line of dialogue!  It all may not be apparent to the reader, but that effort was certainly there - and well beyond my usual diligence!

But this was a GREAT STORY long before it crossed (or "double-crossed") my crooked path!  VERY UNUSUAL and VERY AMAZING!  ...And if ya don't believe me, just ask guest star Ludwig Von Drake!

And who could not love receiving The Three Caballeros as a Christmas gift!  What a great cover! Haven't read that one yet, myself... But somehow, I KNOW it's gonna be a Christmastime Keeper!

...Oh, and don't worry, folks... Mickey's coming back a month later - with all kinds of great stuff!

I am VERY happy at this news. I see from U$ 468's Cover B that the Lovecraftian book is titled "horrorkomikon," which is just terrific. WAY funnier than "tetronomiduck," which according to INDUCKS was used at least in the German translation. Nice that the English-speaking American comics world provided such an apt rhyme for Lovecraft's Necronomicon, and kudos to you for employing it!!
Anyway, I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for the monthly comics to return, and now at last I know that no matter what happens in the election and its aftermath, we Americans do have something to look forward to.

Thank you for the pre-pub-‘preciation! Yes, that was me, and part of that research I mentioned!

Sometimes I just see something in a script that falls SO completely flat (at least for "OUR" audience) that I simply cannot let it stand! This was one of those! I knew “Necro-anything” wouldn’t fly, but why not link it to both a particular genre of comics (“Horror” – which this one IS, in actual fact, though leavened by the right amount of comedy”) and comic cons to boot!

And a little Necro-birdie tells me that you should be pleased with the results of both of the upcoming events you mention!

I must caution my excitement to be patient until January!

January, MM? Don't you mean December? Perfect Christmas gifts (even if only to ourselves), if you ask me?

Oh, no... wait! I get it! You're saving up all *your* excitement for MICKEY in January! Well, Mickey's got SO MUCH great stuff coming up in a variety of books (including, of course, the floppies) that I can't blame you! I'm very excited, and I already *KNOW* what much of it is!

Donald and Scrooge have plenty of advocates! Mickey needs all the support he can muster! So much great content incoming!

I’m happy to see these books are returning again. It seems you can’t keep a good Duck down (or a good Mouse either).

I'm happy to note that the "real" team is coming back for another round! This is very exciting news, indeed! It would be nice if the experts could be allowed to do what the experts do, but alas, whether in comics publication or teaching, this is rarely the case. People who have never set foot in a classroom since graduation are the ones who set up policies which those of us who have been in the profession for decades are forced to carry out, much against our better judgment. I imagine it's a similar dynamic when it comes to deciding what the comics buying public wants. At long last, wiser heads have prevailed!

The Scrooge story puts me in mind of an episode of Murdoch Mysteries which I recently watched in which the detectives had an encounter with a very young Lovecraft. If you haven't caught it, I recommend it. This new issue looks very intriguing.

And of course, as a huge fan of Los Tres Caballeros and an even huger fan of Christmas, I am most definitely looking forward to the Christmas issue! The film does pay homage to Christmas with some lovely Mary Blair artwork, so there is already a precedent. Plus, the Mexico pavilion at Epcot (inside a giant pyramid) gives a tribute to LTC, and I got to visit two years ago. I guess my favorite Disney trio is still well-remembered!
